For how long may blood collection be continued?

According to the American Association of Blood Banks, AABB, the reinfusion of autologous blood can be performed safely up to 6 hours after the start of collection. After that, thanks to its dual function, Bellovac™ A.B.T continues to work as an efficient woud drain. We recommend that when the six hours have passed, you change from the autotransfusion bag to a standard drainage bag to avoid misshappenings.
