A new device for removal of fat in pericardial suction blood

Fatcher
Memory deficits, deterioration in intellectual function, confusion, agitation and/or seizures. Diffuse brain damage (DBD) has been reported in more than 50 % of patients having gone through open heart surgery.

There is strong suspicion that fat embolies originating from the reinfusion of pericardial suction blood is one of the factors behind DBD.

  • Fatcher reduces fat by 80 %
  • Fatcher allows for choice of transfusion strategy at any point during the operation
  • Fatcher allows you to safely minimise the risk of bank blood exposure

Fatcher is used in combination with a heart-lung machine.
